PROJECTS

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

Habitat for Humanity is developing a program that focuses on neighborhood revitalization.  The Sharswood section of North Philadelphia serves as the site of this pilot program.  Lowe's sponsored a day of service that included many projects in the area, including the redesign and building of a garden at the Athletic Recreation Center.  The design of the existing outdoor space was to include areas for exercise, movies, meetings, events, lounging and more.  Compass Rose provided design, sketches, material and plant selections, as well as direction in design/build efforts.

NORTH BROAD RENAISSANCE

The North Broad Renaissance, a non-profit with the goal of community revitalizing the North Broad Street corridor, is responsible for maintaining planting beds along Broad Street.  The Temple Alumni Global Days of Service initiative sponsored a day of service to plant annuals in these beds.  Compass Rose was brought in to organize and lead the planting day.  Hundreds of flats of annuals were planted in a few hours with a team of volunteers.  This landscaping community event helped beautify planters from Callowhill St. to Mt. Vernon St. in an effort to make the corridor greener and prettier.
